What's optimal Glucose and HDL levels in blood?
I recently had a non-fasting blood test and my HDL level is 42 mg/dL and Glucose 101 mg/dL where is normal range is >40 mg/dL for HDL and 70 - 99 mg/dL for Glucose. It seems that this is borderline. Is there a way to improve this? I would Sincerely appreciate any help

No need to worry, your lab test reports are normal. HDL is considered as Good Cholesterol. So, higher values are good for health.
Normal Reference Range of Fasting Blood Glucose test
Normal fasting glucose range: 70 to 99 mg/dL (3.9 to 5.5mmol/L)
Prediabetes: 99 to 126 mg/dL (5.5mmol/L to 7.0mmol/L)
Diabetes: Higher than 126 mg/dL (7.0mmol/L) in multiple subsequent tests
Normal Range of HDL Cholesterol
Low level, high risk:
Male: Below 40 mg/dL
Female: Below 50 mg/dL
Average level, average risk:
Male: 40 to 50 mg/dL
Female: 50 to 59 mg/dl
High level, lower than average risk: Above 60 mg/dL for both males and females

Its fine actually, lab normals are just based on a estimate of a bunch of values and there is 10% error built in so your blood sugar could be 85 next test. The better test is an A1C which shows glucose over time.
