what are some good ideas to travel in the summer?

Remember that 'summer' isn't the same months of the year everywhere in the world.

Detroit

Somewhere far away

Somewhere you haven't been before

Somewhere you've been wanting to go

Alaska is nice during the summer

It is a huge planet.

You will never see or experience all of it.

Go someplace you have not gone before.

If you have been to the beach go to the mountains

If you have gone scuba diving go for a bike ride.

If you went to the sporting events go to the music events

If you went south last year go east this year

That I think the best travel is to a particular park or beach means I like it. What you like to do is what YOU like to do.

I do what I can afford to do.Most of the planet is out of my financial means to go to.

That I might enjoy a drive for hours in the rural countryside or through a mountainous area where the view changes at every turn of the road means what. That I like to stay in the fancy hotel and be pampered or the cheap place just fo a bed to sleep in means what.

I do not realy care what view out the hotel window is while I sleep.

I take a night train or bus to faraway place and sleep. Leaving the daytime to explore the next place.

I have been through hour after hour of endless farm scape I have been through hour after hour of one mountain and forest of trees to the next.

I have also been in built up places where for hour after hour you never really leave the city . It just blends into the next one and the one after that.

I might pick the chain brand for a food break or try to local place. I know what the brand name place has I can get it back home to. The local place is a once in a lifetime. It may be good or bad. It is just one meal. If hungry I go to the next place for some more. If it was really good it might get a second visit.

I am on vacation/holiday I do not have hours to waste standing in line for a few minutes at some special place. I go to the next one with no line and see five or six places and not just the one everyone else saw.

I gave a tour of my local are to some visitors I knew the special places and raced from one to the next.

They joined others later on and as they heard the others adventures of the days and days of exploring they commented we saw that stuff too all in one day skipping past the boring bits.

The locals know the special places in their area. The tourist websites just point out the commercial usually more expensive ones that are very popular and crowded with visitors.

I seem to be able to explore other places quite well on my own. After a day out exploring I often ask the restaurant service staff or hotel front desk for some suggestions of places to see or do.

I look at my days map and say to myself already seen all of those and then head off to some place just on the map to see what I see.

I seek someplace different than what is near me.
