    normally their environment shapes them and then it is hard for the them to see the fact that gay people are real people

    I'm a people and I am not. I think you will find that there are fewer homophobic people around these days and they do not have a lot of support.

    Who ISN'T scared of doing the same thing over and over?

    Very few people are scared of similar objects but homophobia can emerge late in life.

    Homophobia literally translates similarity-phobia you probably mean to ask "Why are people homosexualist" in the same way that "racist" or "sexist" has been formed.

    Homosexualist is a word, but homophobia gained popularity from people who think that ain't and irregardless make good words (they're also now considered official English words)
