What did u do for work experience?

I’m in year 10 now and we have to do work experience this year. I’m wanting to do something fun and that I’ll enjoy, but unfortunately, something like working in a cafe won’t be even a good idea as I have very bad social anxiety and won’t be able to cope with having to talk to multiple different people. thankyou.

Work experience is essential for getting a job. A short placement, an internship or a period spent volunteering will undoubtedly impress employers.

Work experience at your local area police station could also be a great opportunity to see life from a different perspective. Throughout the week you would be learning how the force functions, the different roles and the different and unique situations officers have to deal with on a daily basis.

You should like your work and it can be fun if you like it enough ( I love my job). Maybe volunteer or even put in applications at the local animal shelter, health club, a pet store like Pet Supplies Plus, nursing homes or a garden center. Good Luck, keep trying and you will find what your looking for.

At my current level of maturity or senility, depending on who is narrating, I'd opt for clerical assistant in a law office, or whatever they call t he person who summarizes the issues and actions in a lawsuit.

We know you have issues dealing with people.

We don't know what you consider "fun" or anything about you that would tell us what you "enjoy". Start there and perhaps we might be able to help.

What did I do? My first job while in high school was working as an usher at a movie theater. That required dealing with lots of people, so apparently not a helpful option for you.

Since you are in year 10, most employers won't want to (or can't) hire someone new (and young) to work independently (and not speak with co-workers or customers). Graveyard shift work is out - since there is school during the day.

In your mind, what activities would be something that interests you - while meeting your non-people-interaction requirements?

Spent my work experience week in a primary school - listening to the children read, 'supervising' playground time.

Working is NOT fun, it is serious. Employers need to make money, not have people fooling around.

try an animal shelter or a garden centre.
