Because they're medically necessary and you believe in women's autonomy.

People make awful choices. Why would anyone be pro-choice? I am pro-consequences.

People aren't "for" them. Liberals thought they had reached a compromise with conservatives by enacting bans on late term abortions in most states. But conservatives weren't happy with a compromise. They want everything their own way. So now they want to ban all abortions. We're not compromising anymore. And we're not letting women die just because you think she should.

Only in cases of cataclysmic defect or the mother's life being in danger.

In those cases...it should be a legally protected option.

Late term abortions are extremely rare. In fact, back in the day when the Republicans were against 'partial birth abortions', NPR wanted to interview a doctor who had performed one, and they weren't able to find one!

Pro Lifers speak as if women habitually used abortion as a primary birth control method--which they didn't. And then the idea that a woman would carry an unwanted pregnancy almost to term before deciding to get an abortion.

Late-term abortions are almost always a dire emergency. They are almost always performed to save either the life of the mother, or to save her ability to have more children.

How much do you want a seriously deformed baby to suffer? How badly do you want a mother who develops preeclampsia or other major complication to die? Butt out of other people's decisions, other people's religious beliefs, other people's heartbreaking tragedies or medical complications.

No one if "for" abortion. In terms of late-term abortion, those are extraordinarily rare and nearly always because the woman's life is in danger.

Ever heard of bodily autonomy? Many people on the left believe in that.
