ONLY FOR THOSE THAT HAVE BEEN TO THE GRAND CANYON...?

We've had a trip to the Grand Canyon planned for a while now. My wife, daughter and I are looking forward to it. My daughter injured her leg and is on crutches. Is the Grand Canyon still enjoyable if you can't hike?

YES obviously some of the trails would not be suitable but lots to see and do with little walking.

Your daughter does qualify you to get a temporary handicapped parking permit from your state. It is valid in all states for other parts of your travels.

I believe there are wheelchairs for rent, too. This because the walk along the rim goes for a while, and there can be crowds. There is much to see without hiking down inside.

Yes, enjoyable. Many of the view points are close to the parking. I have been there many times. And hiked to the bottom twice. I prefer the South Rim views. Easy to reach from car. I suggest early morning and late afternoon. As the sun is lower in the sky and brings out the relief of the canyon shapes with more interesting light. Midday light is boring. There is a classic hotel there on the South Rim. And there is a fun train that runs up from the south. Enjoy.

Stay at the top and enjoy the view, she is in no shape to go down even the easiest of trails. Remember, it is like an upside down mountain, going down is easy, getting back up is hard.

Get the accessibility pass if disabled. I've attached a link. "The pass will allow you access to areas of the park not typically available to private vehicles. So worth it. Those with limited mobility can see almost everything right from the car".
