Getting a dui whilst on probation...what to expect?
Hey, my friends brother (supplies most of the income for the household) was just pulled over last night with a DUI and is being held at jail. He was arrested maybe a year or 2 ago in a different state (drug related arrest) and stayed a year in prison. I don’t know the nitty gritty of the situation, but He essentially violated probation with a dui and I’m not sure what the legalities are and was hoping someone would know. If he’s sentenced it’s going to play a big role in household financials, and also my friend missing her brother...plus he honestly had a month left of probation so it kind of figures. What to expect from a dui on probation?

In my state, he would be on parole, not probation. His parole would be revoked and he would return to prison to finish his original sentence. In some states a parole violation can lead to a few months in prison and then a new parole.

He's likely to return to jail, this time to compete the deferred sentence and serve out whatever punishment he receives for the DUI. You guys will have to pick up the slack.

usually, the DA and probation officer will huddle and decide whether to "violate" his probation ... meaning return him to jail for the rest of his sentence or until he is next eligible to be considered for parole.
if it is in another state and the time is as short as you say, they probably won't bother having him extradited -- not worth the cost.
