1979 Suzuki GS1000L- donor bike. Neutral safety switch is disconnected and can t find connector to reconnect.?

Bought as a donor for a buggy project. Just trying to get motor started before robbing it.

Found the neutral safety switch disconnected. I see the connector end for the switch inside the transmission but nothing even remotely close to it that it should connect into. My haynes manual doesn t give me a good pic of it, and the wiring diagram is in Greek, Swathili, Dutch... it s not english lol.

OK take this with a pinch of salt as manufacturers made bikes differently to suit local laws depending where they were being sold...…..

As far as I know the GS1000 donk has no "safety" on Neutral or anywhere else for that matter. What you're looking at in the cases may be the connector for the Neutral warning lamp. The other end is on the wiring loom. Even if you can't find it, you should still be able to start the motor without the neutral warning lamp connected.

Wiring diagrams are Easy If they are proper for the machine. I am learning Gaelic-Cead Mile Failte.

They will not tell you where anything physically plugs in. The Yammer, I hadda use the Euro version to find the missing headlight relay. A Haynes book will show you. I suspect it goes underneath, to the gearbox, and the connector was broken on a bump. That's why you can't feel it "snap" into anything. Elevate the machine, look, clean the connector, glue the plug in with Shoe Goo or silicone.

Or, bypass it, get two similar connectors of opposite gender and crimp them to a jumper wire, plug in, seal with silicone and tie wrap it out of the way.Just remember to pull in clutch or find N lite when starting..

Will be a hard process to locate an original Shop Manual, but maybe, check eBay.

The neutral switch on a buggy isn't that important so you may need to figure out who's who and what's what on your own.
