Do you think todays hip hop is trash?

It's more that I think it's so far removed from being Hip Hop that is should be classified different. I don't think it's easy to objectively say certain genres are trash. But you can argue they don't fit the umbrella of the genre people describe it as. Modern mainstream hip hop has a number of influences. Pop, EDM, R&B, Funk, Gangsta Rap, etc... But we're too clueless to call it a combination of those things. That bugs me more than it generally not being my type of music. Hip Hop falters because fans and critics have no standards for the genre: Not because it's "Bad" music.

Not at all but this has been the weakest decade of hip hop since the 80’s.

Some of the best projects this decade get gassed up to no end and people rank them higher than just about all projects from previous decades because we are in a singles era. I don’t think there is truly an album this decade that’s top 10 OAT worthy and there is only 3 or 4 that come close to the top 10, while my top 10 has about 7-8 90’s albums and 2-3 00’s albums. Still better than the 80’s at least.
