Does anyone know how to get rid of windows update in windows 8? It is heating up my PC.?

    Start

    Enter windows update

    Change settings

    Under Update, change to "Never check for updates"

    Although, it is not a good idea.

    This can always be changed back

    It is unlikely that Windows update is causing this issue.
