What are some funny things to tell foreigners to confuse them about America?

there was a song years ago in which a European (?) girl sings about what "sailor boys" tell her about America, all of it totally muddled. One line I remember is "everything in Texas is Vermont". Suggest you Google the song for funny ideas

You could tell him about the love bugs in Florida, which is true. Look that up if you don't know. They are these goofy little moth-like bugs which come out for about two weeks, twice a year, and fly around screwing. Millions and millions of these little couples, fluttering around and making a real mess of windshields and cars.
