I'm well off, and I don't complain. I know how high taxes were in the 50s and 60s. In comparison, no one alive in the US today really has anything to complain about.

Our taxes pay for far, far more than programs for the poor. They pay for things that benefit us all.

Yes. We are happy that we have government programs, funded by taxes, that help prevent poor people from being homeless, starving, being sick, going without medical care, being without transportation and providing many other advantages.
