While they can, they usually do not until 90 days has passed. But do call them and tell you do know you are late bt the payment will come. Ask about a late charge, they may forgive that once.

First step call them and tell them that the payment will be late and why. Also to repo a car you need several months of very late or total non-payment before they even start the process. They have to pay court cost to start the process, which they will bill you for later.
