My dog is acting clingy all of a sudden?
For the past 2/3 days my dog has been following me everywhere when I’m home and crying when I leave him for 5-10mins. He’s eating, drinking, going out for walks, playing just the same but he always has to be close to me. Usually he’s quite an independent dog. When I’ve taken him out a walk, the past few days he’s been growling and barking at other dogs that come near me and today he even started growling and barking at a woman who was trying to clap him when he’s never been like that before. I’ve heard that dogs can sense pregnancies and illnesses but not sure it’s true? Is there anything that could be causing him to act differently?

He could have an illness, injury or something wrong with him that makes him more ill at ease, they don't just react to how we are doing.
My girl paced quite a lot and did lip licking whenever I came home, she wanted to touch and rub and keep me in sight. She acted normal aside from the unsettled and semi clingy not wanting to leave me alone thing.
Because her personality was different from normal and it hsd born three days I brought her to the vet. I couldn't say anything was wrong with her aside from she was not acting right. We did exam, blood tests, ran her, let her play and everything appeared normal except now at the vets she wanted to crawl beteeen my legs and iterate stared at me making direct eye contact which was pretty rare.
My vet insisted it was weather change or something she ate or drank that maybe made her gsssy, but I stuck to my guns, it was Ike having a vicious dog that suddenly turned into a lamb and loved everyone or a dog that was a over not wanting anyone near. He finally relented because he was starting to fall behind schedule and they did an X-ray. I was Goldman to go home and he would cal me. Again I insisted on waiting until he had time to read it since I was there already.
When he came back to talk to me the heir stood on the back of my neck, I knew it wasn't good news. He sat next to me after putting up the X-ray and said she had cancer. We managed to catch the tumor early and he thought he could excise it but I would hsve to leave her at the clinic for a few days.
My dog had surgery, got rid of the cancer and s few weeks later she was back to her old self, but hsd I ignored it for a month the tumor would have grown too large to operate on and spread through out her body basically been inoperable. I was just lucky enough to know the personality change meant something was definitely wrong, I let it alone for two days but watched her carefully. Never regretted the trip or being so insistent.
Just my experience. Usually s personality change, clingy, aggressive, wanting to be alone, cowering etc are signs of pain with s dog not signs of pregnancy in a human. If your wondering if your pregnant take a pregnancy test. If your dogs not acting normal and there hasn't been a car accident, fire or some other trauma like a dog attack against the dog (not against you) then there's something wrong with the dog.
