Bloodshot eye keeps coming back?

In January I got a bloodshot eye (like the whole white of it went red) and I thought it was an infection from rubbing my eye after handling money in work. It went away after about 5 days but returned a few weeks later. It did the same thing and when it came back a third time I went to the pharmacy and got eye drops. It went away and didn’t come back for a while but then it returned and I used the drops again. It has now returned for the fifth time but not as bad. My eye just looks veiny but it’s only ever been in one eye. Any ideas what’s causing it? I can’t see a doctor at the moment and I’m a bit worried. It sometimes feels like something’s in it but there’s no pain or blurred vision.
