Careers: Motor trade?

Hi,

I have finished sixth form and am struggling to start my career in the motor trade, would it be worth contacting dealerships which are not advertising jobs to see if they would want to employ me? Or do companies only employ when they are posting?

Many Thanks

Why would someone hire you at this point in time? You have no skills or experience.

Consider trade school or seeking an unpaid apprenticeship.

Approach them directly - someone may have just resigned/been prompted and the role may be advertised in the next day or two.

They may be prepared to give you a couple of weeks of unpaid work experience, that way you will be able to get the feel for the industry and decide if that's were you want to be for the 40+ years.

It depends if you have a marketable skill
