Cartilage piercing has sharp pains?

I got my cartilage pierced 4 days ago, and the day after it only hurt to touch it (I heal pretty good and quick usually) anyways yesterday it started just throbbing with pain without it being touched, and today it’s doing the same thing but it’s like a sharper throbbing pain. It’s not red and it’s not crusty looking, it actually looks really good, just it hurts pretty bad. Just wondering if this is normal? The last ear piercing i got was years ago so I forget if I went through this with that one or not. Just wondering if anyone else had this happen to them and if it’s normal. I also clean it multiple times a day with the solution I was given by the piercer so that shouldn’t be the issue. Any advice is appreciated. Tia

Yep, its pretty normal for cartilage piercings.

it also sounds like you got this done with a piercing gun. This causes a large amount of damage to the cartilage, causing more pain and a longer healing time. This will take 12 months minimum to heal, and will randomly have sharp pains like this that last for a while. Be patient and give your ear time to heal.
