how can I suggest than a question be moved to a different category?

I see many posts wind up in sections that they don't belong. I know that the poster can move the question, but it seems that sometimes they don't notice.

I have also seen some trolls move posts that they don't like into the "abuse and spam" section under yahoo products. can these abusive censorships be reported in some way, even if it was not my post?

There is no way to suggest a question be moved. Either the OP will see it's out of place or some other Level 7 will, and perhaps move it. Annoying and abusive as the inappropriate question moving is, there is no dedicated way for us to report it and we have no contact for YA issues outside of appealing post removals and account suspensions. It's safe to assume we're not given a good contact avenue in order to prevent a flood of complaints of abuse to Verizon Media customer care. VM doesn't want to have to employ or dedicate the number of staff it would take to deal with all the complaints here about question moving abuse, blatant violation posts not dropping, and users being targeted by wrongful reporting.

Questions end up in ridiculous areas around the site, due to malicious question moving, not just Yahoo Mail>Spam and Abuse.

There is no way for you to Suggest the Question to be Moved to a Different Category Unfortunately Yahoo does not have any Options to Suggest it to be Moved to a Different Category

Only by emailing the Verizon Yahoo Abuse team the URL addresses if the questions at

    abuse@verizon.net

Most people will not do that because Verizon can track YOUR account activity since YOU emailed them.

Work yourself up to level 7, so you can do it yourself. I don't think that there's any other way. You could try making the suggestion in the Comments platform of the first answerer.

  • No, you can not suggest it be moved. But you can move your own question by clicking the blue edit tab and select edit category and the subcategory. Then you select the category and subcategory for your question. Once you are a level 7 you can move anyone's question doing the same thing.
