Thanksgiving side dish suggestions?
So this thanksgiving we will have turkey, mashed potatoes, candied yams, green bean casserole, crispy stuffing, and rolls. all of this is really heavy stuff so I wanted to add another lighter/fresher side.
has to be dairy free, no beans or cucumber.
15 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 year agohow can I suggest than a question be moved to a different category?
I see many posts wind up in sections that they don't belong. I know that the poster can move the question, but it seems that sometimes they don't notice.
I have also seen some trolls move posts that they don't like into the "abuse and spam" section under yahoo products. can these abusive censorships be reported in some way, even if it was not my post?
5 AnswersYahoo Answers2 years agoSuggestions for an affordable stroller/wagon?
I have 2 little ones, one is 10 months and the other just turned three. The three year old CAN walk on her own, but travel takes 2x as long and shopping trips are 3x as long as when she is in the cart. We are trying to walk to the store more since we moved relatively close to one, but I cant grocery shop with a double stroller. I finally saw another parent using this stroller/wagon/thing the other day and wanted to get one. So I looked it up. $500? really? has anyone found something similar that is actually affordable? I don't need quad seat but I like the side by side seating so that there is more space for storage, and I like that the seating is elevated.
1 AnswerToddler & Preschooler2 years agoWhy are a good half of the questions in politics & government Y! answers so obviously bait or biased?
I like to participate in political debate more than your average Joe, and I like to help other people navigate the complicated field, so why is it that this place is full of conspiracy theorist nutcases and insincere questions? (both sides of the aisle, but I see it slightly slanted one way)
Are people just trolls that don't have anything else to do, are they too young to understand and just parrot their parents, are people just that dumb and gullible?
5 AnswersPolitics2 years agolooking for a cheap, educational booklet?
I am looking for a small booklet to put in operation Christmas child boxes, I am hoping to make a batch of them with my kids this year. My wife has gone overseas for mission work and says that access to education is very valuable for the kids and so I wanted to include (or make) a little primer of sorts incase the child doesn't have access to schools.
the pamphlet would just be a small addition to the other things in the box, but I was hoping to make it be as educational dense as possible. can anyone refer me to a place where I could source one like this? (buy or free printable download)
OR could you give me some ideas if I need to make my own? I figure a world map and multiplication table would be a good start
3 AnswersTeaching2 years agoHow much waste is created from producing a kilowatt hour of electricity through nuclear power?
I have heard that the US produces more waste product from its nuclear plants than comparable ones in Europe, something to do with Europeans re-processing/reusing spent fuel so that less waste is created. I am looking for research to back this up. So, to phrase it another way, how much waste (weight, volume, radiation concentration) is produced per unit of electricity from nuclear power plants
2 AnswersEarth Sciences & Geology2 years agoLooking to get a new camera, need advice. (plus lenses)?
I'm looking at getting my wife her (and my) first DLSR camera. After spending a fair bit of time delving into photography lingo (still only get about half the concepts) my top candidate is a Nikon d5100. I want a camera that is decent in low light and will be good for documenting our infant daughters growth (extra wiggly). Also appealing is the price, with a bit of patience i think i can get one "body only" on amazon or ebay for 200ish and perhaps 260-70 including some sort of lens. We each have the Galaxy 6s smartphone and I would like a camera that is at least as good as the camera that is in that (16 megapixel).
Would that be a good camera for our introduction into DSLR camera? Is there a better option/value for under 300?
I would also like to get a few starter lenses (perhaps over the next year) and I'm not really sure where to start. I know we will need one lens that is very fast to capture things in motion and I would also like to get a macro lens because my wife is trying to get into photography and I really like those close up shots.
Where should I look or which specific lenses should I look for for less than the price of the camera (hopefully ebay <150)? Also are there any other accessories that you would suggest for a budding photographer? Anything that you had to learn the hard way?
2 AnswersCameras4 years agoLooking to buy my wife a camera as the start of a photo hobby. Need recommendations/advice?
My wife is getting into photography, both as a way to occupy time as well as a way to document our daughters growth (new parents). After a simple search on my own, many recommended "beginner" cameras were many hundreds of dollars, some even breaking $1,000. I would like to keep it under 200ish.
as for other needs:
I would like a camera that has interchangeable lenses (can invest over a period of time).
Our smartphone cameras a pretty decent for "average" pictures (stationary, good light, within ~20ft). I do not know if the lenses matter more than the camera, but I find myself wanting pictures in low light situations (where flash isn't the best), photographing moving subjects (pets and squirmy child), or trying to document our travels (where most objects we photograph are big/far away.
size and battery life are not priorities
A camera that can "grow" with the hobby would be ideal.
we aren't set on any brand whatsoever, but we would like one that is easy to find upgrade parts/lenses for.
durability is somewhat important as well.
general advice on what to look for is much appreciated, as well as for camera accessories.
Thank You!
6 AnswersCameras4 years agodefining foods of the states - USA?
just a question i've been wondering about. is there a food that can be said to be defining of each state? maybe better stated as what foods symbolize a certain state. I know it is true for some, maine has its lobsters, wisconson has its cheese and idaho has potatoes but what about states like arkansas? for some the dishes might be more regional of the state, like the buffalo wings of new york.
Filling in any of the list is greatly appreciated, thank you

4 AnswersEntertaining9 years agoangular position. need work shown?
the angular position Q of a .36 m in diameter flywheel is given by
Q = (2.0 rad/s^3)t^3
i need to find Q in radians at t_1 = 2.0s and t_2 = 5.0s
and i need to find the distance the flywheel moves between t_1 and t_2
i know the radians after t_1 and t_2 are 16 and 250 respectively but the book does a poor job of explaining how it works. i dont understand how the equation works when substituting in for t
2 AnswersPhysics9 years agophysics problem. horizontal and vertical components?
A bat strikes a 0.145-kg baseball. Just before impact, the ball is traveling horizontally to the right at a speed of 50.0 m/s, and it leaves the bat traveling to the left at an angle of 35 degrees above horizontal with a speed of 60.0 m/s. The ball and bat are in contact for 1.65 ms.
i need to find the horizontal component of the average force on the ball as well as the vertical component of the average force on the ball.
showing work is the most important, please include and explain any relative formulas. Thank You!

3 AnswersAllergies10 years agovector addition and subtraction?
"In general it is best to conceptualize vectors as arrows in space, and then to make calculations with them using their components. (You must first specify a coordinate system in order to find the components of each arrow.) This problem gives you some practice with the components.
Let vectors (A = 1, 0 -3), (B = -2, 5, 1), and (C = 3, 1, 1). Calculate the following, and express your answers as ordered triplets of values separated by commas."
the first problem is A - B.
could someone please explain the steps so i can do the rest myself? i'm just not getting how the coordinates translate to the examples the professor had in class
2 AnswersPhysics10 years agoSAT verses ACT standardized tests?
I know they are different tests and each one tests on different elements, thought processes may be a better way to phrase it.
Anyway, since most colleges will accept either interchangeably there must be some sort of conversion where SAT score x = ACT score y. I only took the ACT, how do I find out what my SAT conversion would be? My ACT score was 30
