Why are a good half of the questions in politics & government Y! answers so obviously bait or biased?
I like to participate in political debate more than your average Joe, and I like to help other people navigate the complicated field, so why is it that this place is full of conspiracy theorist nutcases and insincere questions? (both sides of the aisle, but I see it slightly slanted one way)
Are people just trolls that don't have anything else to do, are they too young to understand and just parrot their parents, are people just that dumb and gullible?

Some sites like this one are practically unfiltered and uncensored and that has advantages and disadvantages. Sometimes the valuable concepts are like a needle in a haystack. If you go on heavily censored sites like Quora the content is often more intelligent, but the censorship creates some lapses in what can be discussed or missing answers because the answer is too uncomfortable for some and may come off as offensive.

Welcome to politics.
(:
This place is just a mirror that reflects the desired spin of both parties on a smaller scale.

Cool, what would you like to debate?
I am extremely fiscally conservative and tend to breka withthe Republicans when they overspend on the military and break with teh Dmeocrats when they overspend on... well everything else.
Why? Because before Reagan we taxed the top tier at 90%. WE brought in 18% of GDP. Now we bring in 18% of GDP. We spend about 24% of GDP. We need to reduce our spend by 1 TRILLION a year and the military costs around $650 Billion a year.
CLEARLY both sides have their heads up their butt, IMO.
