Left opened hummus outside for several hours - still edible tomorrow?

Hey i bought some hummus today aswell as another dish made of whole chickpeas.

They were uncooled for at least 6 hours and opened for about 2 of them.

I put it in the fridge now.

Can I still eat it for lunch tomorrow without worrying?

thx a lot!

Why take a chance ? Spend another three bucks and buy fresh. What's the worst that could happen if you take a chance ? 24 hours of pure agony and misery. To save a buck ? That's a bad bet.

If by outside you mean outdoors then there is zero chance it would be edible. Either way, it should be thrown out. Eating questionable foods often turns out to be a matter of how sick it makes you. Bean there, done that.

When in doubt, throw them out.

    I guarantee you it's fine.

Eat it. If you won't, I will. Want my address?

The food safety pearl-clutchers on here are ridiculous.

Hummus is beans (and oil and acid). What on earth could happen to it in six hours just sitting on your counter? Unless it attracted a bunch of bugs or your sneaky cat pissed in it, eat it.

The oil in the hummus, should keep it well, and as you've had it in the fridge, it should be OK.

If your'e not sure when you eat it, dont finish it.
