How much to charge for cleaning gutters?

I have someone needing 2 buildings with gutters needing cleaned. The one is a 1200 sq ft single store building with gutters all the way around. The other he says only has about 20 ft of gutters that need attention. How much would you charge for each of these without gypping myself or the client?

You quote that price FIRST. It is related to the Job. Not how long it takes you. It takes as long as it takes.

I personally would not ask for you without you having proof of having injury insurance for yourself. Be buggered if you hurt yourself on my property. I would rather pull out a gun and shoot you dead than have you claim on my property insurance...or sue me because I don't have any insurance.

.357 Magnum blows a head clean off. So does a 12 gauge shot gun. Bury the body out back.

If you do not have the ladders, you can't do it. That simple. I wised up after a few years of owning maple trees as the leaves blew up there from my trees. Those trees are gone and replaced with needle trees...which do not shed anything. Gutters remain clear.

If you jip yourself, so be it. It is not like a UNION job.

It is just a task. You are more of a bother than YOU are worth. If left alone the leaves will eventually decompose and become small like dirt and wash away.

job is done in a couple of hours if you use the garden hose with an adjustable nozzle and blast the gutters clean. It is like washing down a driveway with a hose and maybe having a scraper for the corners. Leaves can stay there for years.

The owner can do it fast too. Say 1 hours. Mine is 2 storey so it has more height and 2 roofs. If you got paid $50(even $30) that is fair. Not worth any more than that. Some sides will have nothing in them or no cleaning is necessary. So, you went up and looked and that was all you did. That may be half the house. To hose 90 feet with a water hose takes half an hour, tops. The rain washes out the gutters better....and is a free service.

Height? Ladders? Access? Tree leaves? Repairs? Plugged down spouts? Water? How clean? Clean up. The little job is a half day. The other one is a full day. What is going to happen is that you are not going to have a ladder that will get you to every place, some places will be low, the leaves will be packed and have to be removed by hand, you will have no water, the owner wants every leave picked up and the big kicker some of the downspouts will be plugged by branches and leaves. There is a reason why there are no gutter cleaning services. What you might do is ask the home owner why on earth does he have a gutter? They serve no purpose and are all of these unnecessary problems. And they are mis-named. They should be called leaf-catchers.

About $15 an hour would be a fair price.
