How come El Paso Texas still had a tragic mass shooting when multiple people in the mall were armed? Where was the good citizen with a gun?

There were armed people in the mall. That is well documented, even with one armed person interviewed by the media. They never drew, they just hid and ran.

Get it through your head: It's very rare for armed civilians to stop a mass shooting.

If people were allowed to open carry and they did have guns, they might have been too scared to try to stop the guy.

Funny how that never seems to work

It's Texas! Of course people were packing.

They all ran the other way when the shooting began, but it makes a good sound bite.

When did you invent the omnipresent good citizen with a gun theory? LOL The fact that is indisputable is that a shooter doesn't stop until he is forced to do so: he is either overwhelmed, wounded or killed by someone with a gun. LOL

Most of them probably hit the exits when the shooting started. Having a LTC permit ( don't know if TX even requires that) doesn't mean that someone is trained to enter into a firefight in a crowded place or even have the desire to be a hero.

Besides, reports say he was hiding in the rafters. Even if I was there with my gun I'm not going after some hidding sniper. You have to be smart, not suicidal. There is a very fine line between bravery and stupiditiy. Going after someone you can't see or find is not brave, it's fvcking stupid which will only result in your death.

Where was the shooter? Reports say he was well-hidden and very stealthy. Even cops had a tough time finding and stopping him.
