Third or fourth mass shooting this week? Are we REALLY not getting that there is a problem?

The main problem is that in the USA, most things are subject to a false dichotomy. the voting system leaves no room for a "third" party. Lots of "partizan"people prefer attacking "the other side" over finding real solutions, let alone acknowledging that the problem is americans. Switzerland has a lot of fire-arms, but almost no shootings..

The problem that occurs is that Democrats scream that getting rid of guns solve the problem, while Republicans scream that having good guys with guns are needed to take the bad guys out with guns. In my opinion, the best option would be somewhere in the middle.

Having guns available to the public is good to protect the people (banning guns wont stop criminals from owning them), although we need to be making sure there are no mental problems/conditions and making sure individuals are old enough before buying a gun (most of these shooters end up being in their teens or 20's with a few exceptions it seems). Increasing security or armed professionals in heavily populated areas could also help. Rid gun free zones for people to have protection while also having mentally unstable individuals get help in some way. One extreme of gun control one way or the other can be scary. The unfortunate truth is, we're never going to get rid of crazy people, but taking these measures can definitley help.

I think we all agree theres a problem, it's the solution to the problem we have trouble with.
