    15/x = 0.05

    x = 15/0.05 = 300 meters

    0.05 => 5/100 = 1/20

    i.e. a rise of 1 for every 20 of run

    so, a rise of 15 metres would be a run of 15 x 20 => 300 metres

    0.05 = 15/x

    x = 300 m

    h/d = 0.05

    d = h/0.05 = 15*20 = 300 m

    A gradient of 0.05 means the ground rises 0.05 m for every m horizontally you travel.

    Rule

    gradient = rise/horizontal

    gradient = rise/run = 0.05 = 15/run

    0.05*run = 15

    answer :::: run = 15/0.05= 300 meters

    checking

    300 *0.05 = 15 meters
