What can I do to learn Spanish more quickly?
I really love foreign language, but my progress is slow. School isn't doing much to help. Does anybody know of any effective ways to learn quickly?

The most effective way, in my experience, is to do an intensive language course in the country where that language is spoken.
Now, that is expensive, I understand. And might not be an option for you right now. Therefore, anything similar to this will be good.
Essentially, it's about immersion in that language. Do you have Latino friends? If so, excelente!, ask them to practice your Spanish with them. Read Spanish stuff, watch Spanish programs. Make trips to the nearest Spanish speaking destination if possible.
Usually, locals are happy to talk with you in their language, even if you don't speak perfectly. Often, it opens doors (sometimes literally) to more interesting holiday experiences.

You need exposure to the grammatically correct variety of the language. Watch movies with good subtitles in your native language, read books (even comics work), listen to spanish-spoken radio once you understand enough to enjoy it...

Talk to people in Spanish, preferably native speakers, but Spanish learners like yourself are good too.
Read Spanish language newspapers. Newspapers are written at a 6th grade level, so they are not too hard.
Read Spanish language children's books. They should have some in the library.
