What are some of the recent advances in Parapsychology?

There are a handful of labs and individuals around that are working in parapsychology; mostly with NDEs, consciousness surviving death, precognition, and remote viewing. Most of the work is trying to replicate previous studies. Despite several decades at this, nothing of scientific value has been produced. Most of it suffers from poor methodology and fails replication, the rest is pure pseudoscience.
To address @Hunter's answer, there is NO empirical evidence at all that telepaths, telekinetic people and clairvoyants use different brainwaves when using their "powers", because their "powers" have not been empirically shown to exist in the first place. When I say "pure pseudoscience", this is what I mean.
No one has ever been able to bend a spoon using only the powers of their mind under controlled test conditions.

The only true advance in the field is the discovery that the field doesn't exist.

Afraid there aren't any. On the one front, mainstream science doesn't want to accept anything that is either very radical or where there is no theory. This is nothing new; physicists have always ignored things that aren't easily explainable like fish, stones, and sometimes even money falling from the skies. At one point, those brilliant scientists said that it was impossible for rocks to fall from the skies, and had museums throw out all their meteors. When scientists were wrong, they never admitted it.
Now, on the other hand, paraphysics has a problem. Any telepath or clairvoyant can tell you that psi abilities aren't like EM energy, but with radio waves and X-rays, you can detect those things. A teek might bend forks and spoons with telekinesis, but you can't build some kind of electronic box to detect those waves, real as they may be.
But science has the same problem with dark matter and dark energy. Just because you can't prove something, it doesn't mean it isn't real. Before Marconi and Tesla invented radios, radio waves had been around forever, but no one knew they were there. Psi is the same way.
But as I tried to explain to that brain-dead Gary K, there has been neurological studies done on espers and psis, so there is empirical knowledge that when telepaths use telepathy it's a different brainwave frequency (4 & 6 Hz) from the one telekinetic people use (7 Hz) and from clairvoyants and precogs (8.3 Hz). Thus, objective proof that each type of esper or psi is physiologically different from others. In theory, some psi abilities like remote viewing could be learnable and the military has been studying that aspect for a good while now.

Parapsychologists record their imagined findings using a keyboard rather than a fountain pen.

there have been none, just like there have been no advances in astrology.
