What categories to use when organizing paper work?

Boyfriend has a big box of paperwork and it is a complete disaster. He has tax documents mixed in with birthday cards, pay stubs from years ago, policies from jobs he hasn t been at in years. Any kind of paper you can imagine, he has it stuffed into this box. It has become a mission of mine to get this cleaned up. Any suggestions on categories to sort this stuff out into, how to accomplish this as quick and easy as possible, and a system to prevent this box from ever reappearing?

Do you want to wipe his butt for him too? Just tell him to sort it out himself. Don't become his slave.

Here's an idea... he is your boyfriend.

He is not your spouse, he is not your son.

In fact, he is not even your fiancé... he is your boyfriend.

"It has become a mission of mine to get this cleaned up" WTF... he has/had a mommy and a daddy...

He does not need a girlfriend to act like one.

In fact, even if he asks you to do this mission- DON'T DO IT!

Unless in the event that he becomes your spouse, you want to baby him for the rest of your existence together.
