Does the Real Estate Agent have a right ?

I was a Rooming House tenant for 6 months till the end of the lease agreement. When I left the property I did not clean the room. Now the Real Estate agent wants to deduct $ 150 from my bond for cleaning expenses. Does he have right to do that. Sydney, NSW

100% yes. The place has to be cleaned before someone else moves in. You didn't clan it. So, in effect, you pay for someone else to clean it.

Absolutely. In fact that is relatively cheap.

Why would you leave it dirty for someone else to clean? Read your lease, it probably has in it that the room must be cleaned when you move.

Of course the agent can charge you for not bothering to even clean before leaving

    Absolutely. This is standard.

Read your lease - generally it'll mention cleaning / leaving the place in the condition you moved in.

Is the agent the person you rent from? Deposits are for damages and cleaning after you leave. If so, YES, they do.

If the room was clean when you moved in, the landlord and/or their agent has every right to charge you for the cleaning, and to deduct it from what, in the US, is known as 'security deposit'.

That sounds pretty cheap. You didn't leave it clean by your own admission. Someone has to do that, and you left it to others to handle. Could you have cleaned it yourself or hired that job out for $150? If not, shut up and realize you got a good deal here.

Hell yes. Your lease will say you have to leave the property in the same condition you found it. You're entitled to ask for a copy of the invoice from the cleaner to ensure they're not overcharging you, but you have to pay it.
