Audacity to MP3 etc.?
I have a podcast and I use Audacity for this. My friend would like to edit the recording using Audacity on his computer but we have to record on my computer.
Audacity files are a pain to move so if I export it to an MP3, and he imports it to Audacity, and edits it, and then exports it as an MP3 again, would that degrade the sound quality?

Yes it would. Export to a lossless audio format, or "Save As" to a shared location or portable device.

It's not the Audacity files that are a pain, it's any lossless audio files - the sizes are always massive. The best that you can probably do so that you get is to use FLAC (which is lossless) rather than MP3!
