Can Antarctica be a continental nation?

This is the 21st century. I am asking this question because if I owned the continent, I will transform it into a nation, defend Her to the death and open the immigration doors. Not only that, but I will conjoin it with the United States and have the people decide upon its fate.

    No. International laws, and treaties are against this idea.

    No. The Antarctic Treaty of 1959 forbids this.
