Atheists, does it not make sense to you that if something appears to be created then it needs a Creator?

Why can't you admit God created the universe?

That is not inherently true. Thats just personal perception and opinion. An argument of asumong casation without reasearch or study to find confirmable reality.

Example, people thought cats eyes glowed with magic (witch was all considered dark arks and witchcraft back in those days) and thus the idea that withes used fammiliars. After carefilull study looking into it without bias, we discovered that feline eyes have a semi-reflective surface: resulting in what little light there is at night being reflected back out. No true glowing. Face-value is often misleading

No, I know that appearances can be deceiving and that we keep finding the natural explanations for things that were once attributed to a god.

Atheists it makes sense to me that if something appears to be created then it needs a creator, sure and we know that the very idea of gods is a product of the human imagination. It is quite understandable why primitive people, who were so much more exposed to the overpowering forces of nature than we are today, should have personified these forces in fear and trembling. But nowadays, when we understand so many natural processes, we have no need for such solutions...

Why can't you admit many believers claim their gods creating the universe? Why can't you admit Ahura Mazda created the universe? Why can't you admit Erebus created the universe? Why can't you admit Brahma created the universe? Be honest Courtney L... if you can or know about that.

Well first you have to establish what appearing to be created means. It may be intuitive to think that something that is complex must have been created, but that is not necessarily the case.

If a God created the universe I would expect it to be less hostile than it is.

Does relativity make sense? Does quantum physics make sense? Does that make those things not true? They are real. Just because they may not "make sense" to you or me does not stop them being real.

Look at the world - go to the ocean and look at the horizon. If the world curved like a ball or flat? Look at the sun and the Moon. Do you feel any movement? But they move across the sky, and move differently. Does it not make sense that they are moving and you are still? From what you see does it not make sense that the world is flat and motionless?

Except that is not the reality. The reality makes sense if you look at it in more detail and you start examining stuff scientifically rather than just taking a casual glance and jumping to a conclusion.

The reality is that things that look created are not. There are aspects of biology that no creator would ever use - but evolution only cares if something is better suited than it was before. Evolution comes up with Ruth Goldberg "designs" because it has not goal, no target, and no design end point.

How many cameras have you seen where the focus mechanism squeezes a bag of goo to try to focus the image onto a curved surface, where the light has to pass though all of the wires connecting the sensor cells, before hitting the cells themselves?

Hint the answer is ZERO - because this is a Bloody Stupid Design. Any engineer at Canon or Nikon would be fired for such a design. But this is exactly how your eye works (And it requires a lot of post-processing in your brain to make anything usable out of it)

So, first off - the universe, and all of it's contents may look created superficially. But when you bother to look harder it looks like it came about though natural forces.

On top of that - if something complex needs a creator - then why does this creator god not need a creator? If this creator god does not need a creator, then why does the universe?

So, when you look beyond the superficial - no it does not make sense that something that APPEARS to be created, then it needs a creator, because you need to look beyond the surface appearance before you can make that conclusion.

Are you willing to go beyond your superficial gaze and your trite conclusion and actually look at the universe around you to discover the truth? Or will you put your religious safety blanket over your head, and just see what you want to see?

It's your choice - but do not expect the rest of us to limit our vision and thought because you chose to do so.

    Two problems...

    - If everything needs a creator, then who created the creator? (Infinite regression fallacy). If you say, the creator is 'special' and does not need a creator (special pleading fallacy) then your entire premise that everything needs a creator is proved false.

    - Even if you are right (you are not, see above) all you can ultimately claim is there is a creator but it does not provide any evidence for your personal beliefs about the creator. Your religion is still unproven even if you could prove the existence of God.

Absolutely. Which is why science continues to peel back the shrouds clouding our understanding of how the universe was created.

Science, not magic. The laws of nature, not some hocus pocus.

Why can't you admit that you have absolutely no evidence for a god at all. And there is nothing in this universe that appears to be created except that which is made by man. And guess what. Man created god to explain that which they did not understand. However, science now explains that which a god was needed to explain therefore: Science has made god unnecessary -- Dr. Stephen Hawking

We know that appearance can be misleading.
