Are Aluminum baseball bats lightweight than Wooden bats?

A site like batdigest.com has the swing weights (https://www.justbatreviews.com/bat-size-chart/bbco... On average, aluminum bats are much lighter than wood bats in terms of swing weight. The distribution of the weigh is more towards the hands even if they have the same scale weight. Wood bats range in a drop 2 to 3.
If you're talking about youth bats then very much yes. It is hard to get a wood bat's drop much more than 6 or 7. Otherwise, it lacks durability. Aluminum and composite bats for youth baseball are drop 8 through drop 13.

They are both sold in a full range of weights. And the same range of weights is available for both.
You buy a bat with the length and weight you want.
If it's a bat for league play, the allowable weight ranges are defined by the league.

Yes, but very dangerous as they increase the exit speed of the ball off the bat significantly, reducing the already small reaction time to nearly 0...over 100,000 kids have been injured and even some killed so I wish they would just toss'em.
