Is it illegal to wear a small rubber band in volleyball?
My daughter wears a tiny, skin-toned rubber band on her left wrist. When she begins thinking negative thoughts, she snaps it to remind her to think positive.
Well one of her smarty pants teammates said it was illegal and the team could be penalized for it. Is that true? I can't find anything in the Texas high school rules that addresses this. A rubber band obviously isnt' jewelry.

It is considered jewelry in the NFHS rule book which governs high school volleyball. Same for hairbands on the wrist, friendship bracelets, and ankle bracelets, necklaces, earrings, and visible piercings.

No. .
Ask the 'smarty pants' to SHOW the rule.
If it is not in print, it does not exist.
