Can you make a boat from any non-porous material ?

all my metal saucepans and pots float when my sink is full.

So I am asking if ANY material can be used to make a boat (provided it it non-porous) ?

yes. Boats have been made of concrete, ice, for example.

more common is wood, plastics, steel, aluminum.

of course it has to have some structural strength. silly putty would not work.
