Ira inheritance check?
I got a IRA inheritance beneficiary check in the mail the other day. I sent these people a certified letter stating i did not want this They sent the check any way. Can i just mail the check back? I specially told them in the letter just split it between my two sisters who were beneficiary's also. Thanks.
I don't want the money because it could temporary cut off my medicaid card which i need.

The banks takes its orders from the account holder. You can't get them to disobey that person's orders. The account holder's instructions are not binding on you; you can refuse to accept the check.
Eventually the bank will declare it abandoned property and turn it over to the state, but your sisters won't get it. To get the money to them, you have to accept the check and send money to them.
Also remember that the money is innocent. It sounds like you object to something - the person you inherited from or where that person got the money. But the money doesn't know who or where it came from. It's just money, don't bother blaming it.

Legally they cannot do that. Deposit the check in money market checking account, then write two checks in equal amounts to to each sister is my suggestion.
