Is it okay to ask a friend for a Xanax?

Question

I don’t really know how Xanax works or if it works over time or if it works right away. My friend is on Xanax because she has panic attacks. I have them too, but I can’t tell my parents because it’s just something I can’t really talk about with them. I have my school homecoming next week, and I’m really scared all the people there are going to set me off, and I really don’t want to have to go through one at homecoming. Is it like weird or disrespectful or wrong in any way if I ask her for one for the night? It would be a one time thing, I would clarify that with her. I’m not using it for the “drug effects” or whatever, mainly just to prevent a panic attack from happening. Please respond!!

It is not Ok to take anyone else's prescription medication.
If going to homecoming causes you to have anxiety, why not plan a different activity that night with friends? Certain social events can trigger anxiety in many people.
If you continue to struggle with anxiety, you should ask your parents to make an appointment with a dr for an evaluation. Please don’t take your friend's Xanax due to potential side effects.

Sure, you could ask your friend for anything. Should your friend give it to you? I don't think so as it is prescription so if you have a bad reaction to it, you will both be in trouble.

Xanax has been known to have horrible reactions for some people.  Sometimes regular aspirin will calm the nerves and it is over-the-counter.

Taking someone else's prescription medication is a form of drug abuse. 
No, it is not ok.
The only time it might be ok is if you had identical prescription and had forgotten your own medication anx so borrowed ond of theirs.

it's NOT  ok- anyway.
 it's a prescription drug - to begin with.
 it sounds to me that your Family Doctor there in real life and/ or your school counsellor there  are to immediately be fully aware  of what you're  going through....
 do not neglect, please, for  your own good.

Try weed first. If that doesn't help, your doctor might prescribe you Xanax.
