What kind of Xbox controller will connect to the Apple TV?

Update:

I tried using my dads Xbox one controller that came out years ago and it didn’t work

    Only the Xbox 1708 Bluetooth controller works with Apple TV.

    uh, i don't think you understand what an Apple TV is...

    it's not a game system. it's like a Roku.

    You need one of the later model Xbox One controllers that support both Bluetooth and the custom Xbox protocol.

    The older ones might work, but only wired (with a micro USB cable). They can't work wirelessly since the AppleTV will only use Bluetooth, and even that's not guaranteed to work either.
