How do you differentiate |r(t)|^2?

    |r(t)|^2= x^2+y^2+z^2. The derivative will be 2(x dx/dt+y dy/dt+z dz/dt). This will be the answer.

    d/dt |r(t)|²

    = d/dt r(t)²

    = 2r(t)r'(t)

    Not having a definition for r(t), that is as far as it can be carried.
