How big is the problem of stolen aid in 3rd world countries?

Whenever I see a billionaire feeding some african village or whatever, I always wonder what it's like after everyone leaves. So armed gangs come in and take their supplies? cuz I know how america doesn't like supplying criminals, but sometimes that's exactly what happens when we give aid. we could treach those people to fenjd for themselves, but this also has historically bitten us in the @$$.

massive, its a problem caused by corruption and governments not caring about where Aid cash goes.

It depends on the state of the country at the time. When the Ethiopian famine struck in the 80's that country was in the midst of a civil war with it's province of Eritrea, so local war lords were a problem, one that people just ignored, but it's not always the case.

No one takes their supplies, they are often not bought in the first place. Trouble is when Bill Clinton decided against sending money somewhere because he thought they would spend it on guns, a load of people starved.
