WilI go to Hell?

I wore a new pair of pants to church the other day and realised they are a wool blend mix

I immediately thought of Deuteronomy 22.11 “You shall not wear a garment of different sorts, such as wool and linen mixed together.

I do all sorts of good things and volunteer. Will God smite me for this being the capricious God that he is.....?

Since you are not an ancient Israelite that live more than 3000 years ago, under the covenant of the Law, no, not for that specifically. But you do mock God and His word and that is a sin of which you will give account.

Turn from sin today and trust in Jesus Christ and you shall see eternal life.

If you read through the Bible, you will find that God made many different covenants with different people and families over roughly 2000 years of history that the Bible covers. One group is not bound by the covenant with another group. That is why Noah and his family had to build a giant floating zoo to be "saved" but no one else has to do the same.

There is a rule in the Mosaic Covenant that forbids the blending of wool and linen in the same garment. That rule applied to the Jews of that time period who were under that covenant. It does not apply to Christians who are not under the covenant.

That is like thinking that the new UAW contract that the auto workers are now striking to get settled will apply to Wal-mart employees. It will not because they are different groups under different rules.

Now, some of the Mosaic laws are repeated in the New Testament as rules for Christians. Just as the Ford contract and any future Wal-Mart (if they unionize) contracts will both have sections of wages, but the one contract will not allow to the other company.

So no, it is not a sin to wear a wool blend fabric if you are a Christian. There is no such law in the Bible.

I don't believe in that, sorry. Clothing is from God for you to cover your shame and as an adornment not for hellfire. Only God can judge you.

That law doesn't apply to Christians, it was for the non-priest of Israel. Only the priest were allowed so it became sacred.

By the way, "hell" in the Bible refers to mankind's common grave not a place of torment. Hellfire was a pagan teaching that the church excepted to control it's people.

There is no biblical stipulation telling Christians not to wear clothes of mixed materials.

There is a biblical command telling Jews not to wear clothes of mixed materials.

If you are a Christian, you go to church.

If you are a Jew, you go to a synagogue.

It's more than just fabrics you're getting mixed up.

Hell is for people who refuse to repent and trust in what Jesus did to deliver us from all our sin.

When you were an immature kid, your father gave you a house rule that you didn’t understand, but obeyed (like don’t run in the house or don’t come into our room without knocking, etc.).

The Bible was written for a certain people at a certain time in history. The OT laws are obsolete; just like the rules you grew up with.

Jesus raised the bar about what He expects from us. Now it’s time for you to grow up.

Based on what I can tell about you from your question, yes, you will go to hell, but not for that.  (Of course I hope I am wrong.)

Believers are not under the Mosaic Law; we are under GRACE. The only thing that determines your eternal destiny is whether you have placed your faith in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life (John 3:18).

Because we have all sinned against a perfectly holy and righteous God, we all deserve eternal separation from God in hell (Rom. 6:23). However, God loves us so much that He sent His only Son Jesus to die on the cross as our Substitute so we don't have to go to hell. Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose from the grave three days later (1 Cor. 15:3-4). He gives eternal life freely to anyone who simply believes in Him. No one can be saved by doing good works. Salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone (Eph. 2:8-9).

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life" (John 6:47).
