Rapid weight gain, HELP?
I'm 17 year old girl at 5'4. Most of my teenage years I've weighed around 115-120 pounds. How I eat has not changed and nothing about my life really has changed–I'd say my diet has improved slightly. But recently, in the past few months, I've gained 10 pounds. I weigh 131 pounds as of today and I do not know where this weight has come from in the slightest. I'm so scared and I don't want to gain weight, I was so happy where I was. I need to get rid of this random weight FAST. I don't want to be a teenager and have to already start on a diet and exercise routine that a 50 year old does. I just want to live my life!!!!! Help?

"I don't want to be a teenager and have to already start on a diet and exercise routine that a 50 year old does."- I don't even know what that means. A 50 yr old and a teen can both be healthy and fit, by having the same diet and exercise plan.
Sounds to me like hormone changes, unless there's an actual health issue (thyroid or similar). Tweak your eating (since that's the primary factor in fat gain/loss), and maybe even become more active. You could also speak to your family doctor about it. If you haven't made any real changes in your eating or activity, then unexplained weight gain or loss is something to take seriously.

1. Are you SURE what you're eating hasn't changed? or your activity levels. You don't have to be on a diet to spend some time tracking what you eat and how active you are.
2. I don't see any reason you can't be happy where you are now.
3. You should probably already have an exercise routine, or at least a habit of exercise, even at 17 ( i say this entirely as a hypocrite who doesn't exercise enough, but is a living testament to why that isn't good. I'm not fat, but out of shape AF. No stamina at all) .
