Is it a requirement to have RC Drone Insurance in California?

These drones being operated by unsupervised kids are a very real hazard. Anytime you have an object with spinning propellers moving through the air outdoors, you have a potential for considerable property damage as well as physical injury or even death. These things aren't toys, no matter HOW they are marketed, sold and used. The FAA wants them registered, and has fairly stringent rules as to their operation. Most countries have a hobby organization devoted to model aircraft. If you or your kid get one of these devices, locate and join this organization. It might keep you out of jail, or keep you from killing someone. RC aircraft are NOT toys.

You can apply to get a waiver from any damages caused by your drone from your local public notary. It's a legal requirement to publish notice in your local newspaper.
