If atheism isn't a religion, then why are the questions on atheism in this section?

Because atheism is tied to theism, where nether are religions in and of themselves. Most theists do join religions and few atheists do, but that doesn't make atheism or theism religions. Both are tied to the topic of religion which is why questions for both are here.

Because the ''Religion and Spirituality'' section is here for people to discuss the subject.

You don't have to be religious yourself to express an opinion about religion.

Atheism is a ''lack of religion''.

You can .. after all .. express your opinion about politics without being a politician.

The questions on atheism are being asked by Christians, they post in the Religion section because that is where they think they belong.

I have seen questions about cats posted in the Astronomy section, and questions about politics posted in Health.

Is atheism a religion? Should atheism be protected by the First Amendment? The answer to these two questions is the same. Yes to both questions or no to both questions.

That's not much of an argument.

Atheism is a position on religion, not on gardening or trigonometry. Of course any posts about atheism belong in this section.
