What are ways we can levitate something that weighs a ton or heavier, other than with rotors?

This seems a big thing in the obstacle to making a flying car, though the Terrafugia TF-X would actually use rotors, if they ever build one and get it to work, that is.

I don't think the EM drive will work, and seems as of right now, from what we know there's no way to produce anti-gravity, maybe a monopole magnet could do it, but we can only get monopoles to last for a fraction of a second.
