Why do so many people like the Joker Movie?

It was just well-made and causes the audience to think. Unfortunately, there are not a lot of good scripts out there, and there is a lot more focus on external appearances than intelligent writing. I hate evil characters, but I do like good character development. I used to collect Batman comics, because I liked the good guy, and he is very well developed, but they don't always portray him as such in the films, like they do in the comics. I don't agree with the notion that characters have to be exactly like us, or have tons of flaws. Personally, I like characters that are not doing what everyone else is doing... it's like a breath of fresh air. I read Batman comics to see something different than what I was seeing in the world. It was my good guy therapy.

While so many people are like the Joker, in that they are overcome by evil, rather than have become overcomes of it, it's good for my soul to see those who don't conform to the patterns of this world. So when they pervert and destroy established good guys, and take away their integrity, they take away that which is good, and praiseworthy. I'm tired of all this Hollywood anti-hero nonsense, and painting villains as misunderstood good guys. Let the villains be the villains, and let the righteous be the righteous. People need good things to aspire to. Films gained their popularity in the Great Depression, when movies would actually care about uplifting the souls of people.... but now it plunges people into a darker thoughts and darker places. Very few things are designed to touch our hearts, and lift up our souls.
