You mean the game? Well, it has LOTS of dramas and controveries surrounding it, but the main problems are these ones:

-) Bad presentation during the E3 2019 (poor trailer & gameplay demo)

-) Lots of changes from the gameplay (i.e no Z-moves, etc)

-) More than half of the Pokemon were gone from the National Dex due to "improved quality of graphics and animation"

-) Bad PR and communication with the press & fans

-) Game Freak were doing multiple game projects, which lots of people suspects that it affects the quality of Sword & Shield

What makes people angry was Game Freak's decision to "Thanos-snapped" more than half of the Pokemon, where lots of it were fan favorite like Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Scyther, etc, and they claimed that it was due to improving the graphics and animations. But from all the trailers that they published, the graphics weren't as good as other Switch titles, and they're still using animations from older games.

This game could be one of the worst received Pokemon game, due to lots of backlash and negativity. They even cancelled the Sword & Shield launching event in Japan without any clear reason (they said it was due to "operational reasons", which could be anything).

So yeah, those were the things that happened with Sword & Shield. I dunno how bad these backlash will impact the game, but it'll surely change on how Game Freak develop the game in the future.
