Are you allowed hand tattoos in the fire service?
I checked before i got my hands tattooed that they wouldn't hinder my application, but since getting them i have now heard rumours that some fire services won't accept anyone with hand tattoos. does anyone know whether this is true or not? mainly for london and the surrounding counties. Thank you

Under the recruitment section "Common recruitment questions" on the Fire Service UK website, it states, "Tattoos are acceptable providing they are in no way offensive. If they are rude, racist, sexist, sectarian or homophobic, they will not be acceptable." Specific body parts are not mentioned, so I would assume the hands are OK providing the tattoo/s fall within the guidelines.
