My boyfriend didn’t want to ride in an uber with me?
Last weekend my boyfriends roommate was having a party at his apartment. There was no guest parking and he could not pick me up from down the street because he had been drinking, so I decided to order an Uber after I parked my car in a nearby parking lot. It was cold and around midnight, so I asked if I could swing by in my own car and pick him up before I got the Uber so I didn’t have to go alone. He responded saying “if you really want me to I guess.” It made me upset but I didn’t say anything. I have PTSD from an abusive past relationship and sometimes get nervous around strangers. I want to bring it up without causing an argument because safety is important to me and I believe it should be to him to since we are dating. The Uber ride would have been a 2 minute drive.

Your PTSD isn't your boyfriend's issue, it's yours. While it's unfortunate, your boyfriend has no control over it, and he should not be expected to worry about your nervousness around strangers.
If you don't feel safe, carry mace. But it seems to me you already know your issues stem from PTSD, not situations which you encounter.
Maybe you could work on your emotional health issues. You're the only person who can fix them. Your boyfriend isn't in charge of your emotional health

How would you like us to advise you? You didn't ask a question..I'm glad that you are safety conscious, I, personally, feel uneasy about trusting myself to a stranger in a car, particularly one who may not have been properly vetted, as uber drives are said to be. I'm unclear on why you wanted the uber, since you already had your own car and didn't mention anything about drinking yourself. Since your boyfriend was under the influence, you really couldn't count on him behaving as he might have otherwise done, if he were completely sober. But if he was just down the street, how is it that neither of you considered that he might have walked to you and then escorted you on foot? It all sounds like a tempest in a teapot, and that things might have been handled well without upset, if either of you or both (?) hadn't been drinking. Such is life, when alcohol is involved.
