plenty of people feel this way. not all men put women on pedestals. the ones that don't are less likely to be exploited financially.

Yes but I joined to send a message to the **** wipe at work who was saying I’m a lesbian, men gossip more than women so It likely that someone would say I’m straight.

Good. Just make friends with them and then if you like them (in the dictionary sense of the word) maybe asking them out will actually be meaningful and not a waste of time for either of you. Lust does not HAVE to be acted upon right away, that's part of being a civilised human being.
